Lunula contains only pure, potent, plant-based food-grade extracts with the power to heal your head. While CBD and CAPIXYL are the marquee ingredients, Lunula is composed of over thirty different botanicals between our scalp treatment and serum—each with distinct nourishing properties. See below for an extensive list of journal articles detailing the scalp and hair benefits of each ingredient.
CBD and CAPIXYL™️
¹ CBD: A case series on androgenic alopecia (AGA) found that daily application of a hemp oil extract containing CBD, THCV, and CBDV resulted in significant hair regrowth. The study suggests that cannabinoids may help stimulate hair follicles, promoting growth and improving scalp health. CBD’s role in hair regrowth was demonstrated in AGA patients, with significant improvements observed, indicating its potential as a natural hair loss treatment (Smith 2023). CBD’s dermatological benefits include reducing inflammation, pain, and itching. It may help in maintaining scalp health by reducing irritation, supporting wound healing, and protecting the skin barrier. The anti-inflammatory, anti-itching, analgesic, and wound-healing properties may make it a safer alternative to corticosteroids for certain skin disorders such as scalp dermatitis. (Makhakhe 2022).
² CAPIXYL has been shown to be as effective as minoxidil with less adverse reactions (Lueangarun and Ratchathorn). In global photographic evaluation scores and self-evaluation scores, CAPIXYL outperformed minoxidil, and also showed significantly better clinical recovery in terms of hair growth (Karaca and Akpolat).
